The shape of the land, and the heights of the trees and buildings, come from laser surveys:

Buildings the map lacks: Microsoft’s Global ML Building Footprints, under the same licence. The courses built from this data say so in the game, and their course files are available under the Open Database Licence: write to support@agameofgolf.com.
